About Me

My name is Leah Lemchen.  I am the Mentor Teacher at Kidspace.  I live in Mountlake Terrace with my husband Matt and daughters Heather and Madeline.  Heather is six years old and in First Grade.  Madeline is four and is a Maple.   We have a cat named Jack and a fish named Flowery Grass. Our newest addition is a fish named Sefany Daisy Rose.  (Ask Maddie about that one!)  My family and I love going camping, playing at the beach or doing almost anything enjoying the outdoors.  We also love taking trips together and going new places.

I have worked with young children consitently since I was a high school student.  I have worked with a variety of ages.  I coordinated a school age program, taught extended day kindergarten and pre-kindergarten.  I worked briefly in a toddler classroom and worked as a nanny when my oldest daughter was young.  I also taught preschool at an English immersion school in Japan.  Most recently, I had a home childcare, which I closed just before starting work at Kidspace.  I maintain relationships with many families and staff I have worked with over the years.  I feel very lucky to have had so many wonderful work experiences in the field I love.
